The water slide attraction that was notoriously "hidden" from the normal park route in Bugs Bunny World has been deconstructed and removed from the park's line-up. This caught our eye as we walked past the dirt filled area on Monday. The former attraction's was transformed into a construction zone with piles of dirt, tractors, but no sign of the slide at all which gives a sense that it's removal happened days before my visit. Sierra Falls has also been removed from the park website. This could be the beginning stages of Little Flash construction as this is one of the only logical places that is open right now in Bugs Bunny World for a new ride. In addition, more of Little Flash is emerging behind Deja Vu and Terminator which might mean construction of the upcoming kiddie coaster is just around the corner. Either way, Sierra Falls will greatly be missed as it was the only connection of both a water park attraction in a theme park such as Magic Mountain.
An official from Magic Mountain released the whereabouts of the mysterious new Pistachio Park in Sierra Twist's former location. The park rep stated that "Pistachio Park is a small park filled with Pistachio trees where you will be able to learn about the wonders of pistachio agriculture in California." So basically it's a "museum" or educational attraction about pistachios. No word on when it will open yet. But all I can say is.... How RANDOM?? Nevertheless, it doesn't hurt for it to be there. Maybe it'll be the new X2! In that case, maybe we should change the site name to Planet Pistachio? Hmmm???
Construction on Superman: Escape From Krypton opening Spring Break 2011 continues, with the new color scheme and re-paint finished! Since the last update, the yellow has been added to the rails. We caught a few photos while we were there!
As you may already know, Six Flags recently dropped the licensing agreements with many of their partner brands and themes of their attractions such as The Wiggles, Thomas The Tank Engine, Evil Knievel, and even Terminator. This means that Thomas Town will change it's theme to a nameless whistle stop depot while Terminator Salvation The Ride is switching names to simple: Apocalypse. According to the LA Times, the ride will keep it's orinal queue theming, but drop the Terminator brand off of everything and change the scenario to a "good guys-bad guys scenario". But don't worry, the coaster will remain the same, but with a different name and a gift shop based upon "teen items". This new change is expected to take place on January 8, 2011.
